Where the view opens up
On the ridges around Gărâna, the paths sometimes stop at a place where the village, the forest and the Semenic Mountains can be seen at a glance.
On the ridges around Gărâna and Brebu Nou Commune, the forests sometimes give way to clearings and lookouts where the Mountainous Banat reveals itself at a single glance.
Some points require a short climb. Others are right at the edge of the village. But they all share something: the feeling that the world grows wider when you reach the top.
Viewpoint
The Cross on Dealul Kasarn
At the end of the Way of the Cross, above Gărâna, a wooden cross marks one of the finest viewpoints in the commune. From here, the village rooftops appear among the trees, and the ridges of Semenic unfold to the horizon.
The climb starts next to the Roman Catholic church and follows the fourteen stations of the Way of the Cross. It takes about one to two hours and climbs over two hundred metres of elevation.
