Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They allow certain preferences, such as the chosen language, text size or browsing session, to be remembered to provide a more efficient and user-friendly experience.
Cookies do not contain viruses, cannot access files on your device, and cannot run programs.
2. How we use cookies
The brebunou.ro website uses cookies for:
- Proper functioning of pages and forms
- Remembering display preferences (text size A−/A/A+, contrast, language)
- Storing your consent for cookies
- Ensuring session security and preventing abusive actions
- Anonymous analysis for content improvement (only with consent)
3. Cookie categories
3.1 Strictly necessary
These cookies are essential for the website to function and cannot be disabled. They provide functions such as security, session retention, accessibility preferences and selected language. Without them, certain sections of the website will not work properly.
3.2 Functional
Enable additional features such as interactive maps, video content from external servers, social media integrations and advanced forms. Activated only with your consent.
3.3 Statistics
Help us understand how the website is used, exclusively for anonymous statistical purposes, to improve content and navigation. Collected data is aggregated and does not allow identification of individual persons.
3.4 Marketing
The Town Hall of Brebu Nou Commune does not use marketing cookies, advertising profiling or commercial tracking technologies. This category appears exclusively for full transparency and remains permanently disabled on brebunou.ro.

Functional
By default, brebunou.ro does not load external functional services. These, including Google Maps (see section 5.1), can be activated only after explicit consent for the “Functional” category in the cookie banner. Without consent, no functional cookies are installed.
Statistics
We currently use analytics solutions that do not install individual tracking cookies. If a statistical solution is implemented (such as Plausible or Matomo with minimal cookies), the table will be updated.
Marketing
We do not use marketing cookies. This category remains permanently disabled on brebunou.ro.
5. Third-party cookies
The brebunou.ro website integrates two types of external services, each treated differently regarding cookies:
5.1 Google Maps · direct integration (requires consent)
On contact and presentation pages, we may display embedded maps via Google Maps to indicate the Town Hall location and tourist attractions (Trei Ape Lake, Gărâna Jazz). When a map is displayed, Google may set cookies such as NID, CONSENT, 1P_JAR or SOCS, along with other technical cookies, according to the Google policies applicable at the time of access. The exact names, retention periods, and purposes of these cookies may be changed by Google without prior notice.
Google Maps is embedded using functional cookies and loads only after you accept the “Functional” category in the cookie banner. If you decline, the map is replaced with an external link to Google Maps, which does not install cookies on brebunou.ro.

5.2 Ghișeul.ro · external payment button (no cookies)
For online payment of local taxes and fees, the website includes a button that redirects you to Ghișeul.ro, the official national payment platform. This button:
- Does not embed content from Ghișeul.ro on our page (it is not an iframe)
- Does not install cookies from Ghișeul.ro on brebunou.ro
- Opens a new page only upon click, under the full control of the user
After redirection, you are on the ghiseul.ro domain, subject to their privacy and cookie policies.
5.3 Radio Kibuț · audio player (starts only at your request)
The website includes a player for the local station Radio Kibuț, hosted by the third-party platform RadioKing. The player:
- Does not connect to RadioKing on page load · the audio stream (listen.radioking.com) and the current track title (api.radioking.io) load only after you press the play button
- Installs no cookies from RadioKing on brebunou.ro
- When playback starts, your IP address is transmitted to RadioKing servers, subject to their privacy policy
- Player preferences (playback state and volume:
bn_radio_playing,bn_radio_volume) are kept exclusively in sessionStorage, only for the duration of the browsing session, and never leave your device - Automatic playback resumption when navigating between pages happens only if you have granted consent for functional cookies
5.4 MapTiler · interactive maps (requires consent)
The interactive map of the commune and the Via Transilvanica route map use cartographic services from MapTiler. These maps:
- Do not load by default · they are displayed only after you grant consent for functional cookies or press the “Activate the map” button
- Install no cookies from MapTiler on brebunou.ro
- When displayed, your IP address is transmitted to MapTiler servers (api.maptiler.com) to deliver the map
- The map software library (MapLibre GL) is loaded from the unpkg.com content delivery network, with integrity verification (SRI), without cookies
5.5 Open-Meteo · weather forecast (requires consent)
The local weather forecast on the Town Hall page is provided by Open-Meteo, an open-source service. Data is requested only after consent for functional cookies has been granted; the service installs no cookies and requires no account.
5.6 Future integrations
Should additional features be added such as:
- Embedded YouTube videos (Local Council meetings)
- Facebook embeds (official Town Hall posts)
these will be treated as functional cookies and will activate only after your explicit consent. We will update this page before implementation.
6. Consent and withdrawal
On your first visit to brebunou.ro, you are shown a cookie banner through which you can:
- Accept All · activates functional and statistical cookies (when applicable)
- Necessary Only · accepts only strictly necessary cookies for functioning
- Preferences · allows individual selection for each category
Your consent is stored for 365 days, after which you will be asked again.
You may withdraw or modify your consent anytime by clicking the “Cookie Settings” button available at the bottom right of every page.
